REL 497 Metaphor, Symbol and Narrative (1)

An investigation of theories of metaphor, symbol and narrative (myth) with two foci: (1) defining these elements of language; and (2) addressing the problem of referentially and language (Does language refer to a world?). At issue is the role of narrative and figurative language both in terms of providing us with access to the world and challenging our current understandings of the world.
