IDS 167 (W) Journalistic Writing II (.5 credit)

Continuation of Journalistic Writing I. Topics include covering speeches and meetings, ongoing coverage, crafting headlines, dealing with statistics and technical issues, writing profiles and editorials. The course gives specific attention to problems of multicultural sensitivity and mainstreaming, cliches and stereotypes, and it deepens the analysis of journalistic ethic begun in Journalistic Writing I. Ongoing attention to accuracy and to grammar, punctuation, and style.

General Education Requirement Fulfillment: Writing Centered.
