Last updated: 9/26/02 Carol Goodman Carol Goodman is the author of several beautifully written and
well received novels, The Lake of Dead Languages, The Seduction
of Water, The Drowning Tree, and, forthcoming in 2006, The
Ghost Orchid. Her self-described "literary thrillers"
are often set in an academic milieu in the Northeastern USA and
are true page-turners. Carol Goodman graduated with a B.A. in Latin from Vassar College.
She taught Latin for several years in Austin, Texas, before she
returned to school to earn an M.F.A. in fiction from the New School
University. Goodman currently teaches writing and works as a writer-in-residence
