Alex Horne (1978 - )
British stand-up comedian

After starring in two highly successful comedy shows at the Edinburg Festival, Making Fish Laugh and Every Body Talks, Alex Horne, a Classics Ph.D. recently hailed by The Independent as "a quick witted and genial comedian," is about to tour the UK with his latest show, When in Rome, a show he will only perform in British towns with a Roman heritage and a Latin name (which means almost everywhere except in Scotland).

Nominated as 'Perrier Award' Newcomer in 2003 and honored with the 'Chortle Comedy Award' for Breakthrough Act in 2004, Horne studied Classics at Cambridge University. Asked about his most recent show, he comments, "I'm on a mission to keep Latin alive and get some use from a degree which everyone told me would be useless."
