(a) When Cleomenes had fled, (all) the others followed.
(b) Since the pirates had advanced very quickly, the last Roman ships were the first ones in danger.
(c) Although the general had approached the shore quickly, the rest nevertheless sailed rather slowly. [tamen is a signal word indicating that cum = "although"!]
(d) When Cleomenes had reached the shore with (his) ship, he hid at home.
(e) All the others also left their ships behind when they had in no way been able to escape the pirates on the sea.
(f) The leader of the pirates ordered that the ships, when they had been captured, should be burned.
