1. Translate these sentences:
(a) Verres persuaded Servilius to come to Lilybaeum. [or: that he should come to L.]
(b) When Servilius came to Lilybaeum (better: as soon as S. had come to L.), he was beaten by the lictors.
(c) Verres had ordered the lictors to beat the man.
(d) As a Roman citizen, Servilius begs Verres neither to beat nor to kill him.
(e) Just as Verres beats Roman citizens, in the same way, I assert, will he be beaten by Roman citizens.
(f) Verres urges some slaves neither to spare Servilius nor to give him help although he asks (for it).

2. Translate the underlined words into Latin (using ut/ne + subjunctive):
