Remarks: The citation contains one chronological error: Professor McCreery's studies
at European universities took place before he received his Ph.D.
in Archaeology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980. He studied Theology
at Edinburgh, Heidelberg, Zürich, and Leiden in preparation for his
M.Div. degree which he received from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in
1973. Later, he studied French at the University of Geneva in Switzerland
in connection with his graduate studies in Archaeology.
