This French Placement test is intended to be a tool to give you an indication as to your current skill level an how it relates to the French program here at Willamette University.

This test has over 100 questions broken up into 12 sections, 10 sections of grammar, and one section each on vocabulary and reading comprehension, and a survey. At the end of each section, click the CONTINUE button to move on.

You MUST complete this test in one swoop. If you quit before finishing or become disconnected, you will have to start at the beginning again.

Do not use books, reference materials or any help while taking this test. Answer honestly and quickly so we can get the best assessment of your current capabilities.

At the end of the test you will be shown your score in each section as well as an overall score and a 100, 200 or 300 level class will be recommended at that time.
