The General Education Program
The CLA Faculty believes that students of Willamette University should include in their General Education Program:
- College Colloquium
- Two Quantitative Reasoning courses
- Three Writing-Centered courses
- Study in a language other than English
In addition we have identified six broadly defined inquiry modes that encompass crucial facets of a general education; these compose the Modes of Inquiry (MOI) requirement:
- Understanding the Natural World
- Creating in the Arts
- Analyzing Arguments, Reasons, and Values
- Thinking Historically
- Interpreting Texts
- Understanding Society
