The General Education Program
The CLA Faculty believes that students of Willamette University should include in their General Education Program:
- Freshman Seminar: World Views
- Two Quantitative Reasoning courses
- Four Writing-Centered courses (including World Views)
- Study in a language other than English
In addition we have identified six broadly defined inquiry modes that encompass crucial facets of a general education; these compose the General Education Distribution Requirements:
- Understanding the natural world
- Creating in the Arts
- Analyzing arguments, reasons, and values
- Thinking historically
- Interpreting texts
- Understanding Society
