Professor James Frew earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University in 1979 and has been a member of the Willamette University faculty for over 20 years. During his tenure here, he has taught courses in econometrics and forecasting, as well as economic theory, finance, and urban economics.

He has published articles in various journals, including the AREUEA Journal, the Journal of Urban Economics, The Journal of Urban Studies, The . Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Research, Real Estate Appraiser and Analyst, and The Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education.

He has. also been a member of the editorial boards of several of these journals, especially the Journal of Real Estate Research, where he also guest edited a special issue on Multifamily Housing (in 2003). He is presently a section editor for the Journal of Real Estate Literature.
