Our graduates find themselves
well prepared to enter the private sector, serve in policymaking
agencies, or go on to top graduate programs in economics, law,
public policy and business.
Our majors enter many walks
of life and do so as skilled and thoughtful members of society
who are valued for the wide range of skills developed through
economics training as part of a broader liberal arts education.
Internship sponsors and potential employers frequently praise
Willamette economics graduates for their strong training in economics
coupled with an emphasis on critical thinking, effective writing
and good oral presentation skills. Activities of our recent graduates
have spanned from working in service organizations such as Teach
for American or the Peace Corps to starting their own businesses,
joining startup companies or working in "think tanks."
Many of our graduates have joined leading consulting firms as
the starting point for rewarding careers in the private sector.
