This BA/MAT track provides you with the opportunity to pursue your interest in education while developing a broad-based liberal arts background. The BA/MAT program does not reduce the amount of time necessary to earn both degrees; it does, however, offer you an unprecedented opportunity to pursue additional certifications and focused training in subject areas that will set you apart from other teacher candidates as you seek employment.
The Graduate School of Education is accredited by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission and is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
As a qualified undergraduate, you’ll complete courses that best support an early childhood, elementary, middle level or secondary teaching degree. While studying as a full-time MAT student, you will be rewarded with greater scheduling flexibility to pursue specialties in reading, special education or English as a second language.
