Yung-Pin Chen

Professor of Statistics, Lewis & Clark College

Yung-Pin Chen is a Professor of Statistics at Lewis and Clark College. He received his Ph.D. in statistics from Purdue University in 1994. He taught at Occidental College, Pomona College, and Smith College before coming to Lewis and Clark College in 2002. He has mentored four previous REU projects, leading to multiple publications with undergraduate students. Yung-Pin is fascinated by the study of randomness. Since 2001, he has participated in summer research collaboration with undergraduate students on bioinformatics, computer Go, and Markov chains.
