Lars Campbell

Trombonist and Portland Jazz Orchestra co-founder Lars Campbell attended the University of Northern Colorado and Portland State University, where he received both undergraduate and masters degrees in Jazz Performance. Trained in both the jazz and classical repertoires, he is a member of the innovative jazz trio Chopslaughter, the Bobby Torres Ensemble, and also performs with the Oregon Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theater orchestras. His discography includes appearances on Pepé and the Bottle Blondes' Pambrosia, Pink Martini's Hang on Little Tomato, and Portland Jazz Orchestra's Good Morning, Geek. Also a composer and arranger, he has written numerous works for large jazz ensemble, trombone quartet, and jazz sextet.
