Paul Owen is a percussionist, drummer and educator currently residing in Portland, Oregon. Paul received his Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Oregon where he studied with Charles Dowd. In addition, he received his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Michigan where he taught as a Graduate Student Instructor. During his time in Ann Arbor, Owen studied with Joseph Gramley of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble as well as performer and pedagogue Jonathan Ovalle. As a performer, Paul is currently touring drummer with the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies who play regularly throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He has also recently been named Principal Percussionist of the Salem Chamber Orchestra. Paul has also performed with many other regional ensembles such the Portland Percussion Group, Eugene Symphony, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, The Oregon Coast Music Festival, The Oregon Festival of American Music and the Newport Symphony.
