Colleen White

Clarinet

Colleen is a diverse and active performer and educator. She is Artist Associate of Clarinet at Willamette University where she teaches clarinet and coaches chamber music. She is also Instructor of Clarinet at Corban University and Chemeketa Community College. Currently, she is second/E-flat/bass clarinet of the Rogue Valley Symphony, and a member of the new music ensemble, Sound of Late. An active freelancer, Colleen has performed with the Eugene Symphony, Astoria Music Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Oregon Coast Music Festival, OrchestraNext, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Ballet, and Lyric Opera of the North. Colleen is passionate about contemporary music and has been featured as a performer at the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States, and the Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium.

She received her DMA in clarinet performance with a supporting area in musicology from the University of Oregon, her MM in clarinet performance with a concentration in conducting from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and her BM in music education with a minor in politics from Ithaca College. Before graduate school, Colleen taught K-12 classroom music and band in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She has studied clarinet with Louis DeMartino, Michael Galván, Jennifer Gerth, and Theodore Schoen.
