Guitar Midterm

Artist's Statement

The piece started and ended as a simple blues jam over some basic strumming. The vocals were added last and were too prevalent in the overall mix. I washed them out by doubling them, adding reverb, and finally a huge delay. The second section is driven rhythmically with a very artificial slide adding tension to the piece. Lastly resolving without lyrics. It was important the pie! ce end in a mood set by music and not by words. Resolution occurs but without definition. Unfortunately, it suffers from my inability to drum and play the piano and the last section doesnąt mesh quite as tightly as I would like. What I do like about this piece is the simple dialogue between the bass and the guitar. Like I said, a simple, simple blues improvisation.
