Dramatic Vocal Arts

Under the directorship of Professor of Voice, Allison Swensen-Mitchell, this workshop offers students a rich experience with opera performance and production along with an in-depth integration of singing, stage movement and character development. The Dramatic Vocal Arts ensemble presents two productions during the school year. One evening of operatic scenes with piano accompaniment is performed during the fall semester and one fully-staged production with costumes and orchestral accompaniment is presented during the spring semester.

Recent productions include Puccini's Suor Angelica, Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, An evening of Operatic Scenes, The second act from The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, and Cosi Fan Tutte by Mozart.

The ensemble is open to Willamette University students by audition.
