With a string ensemble as its core, the University Chamber Orchestra presents one full concert and several other performances each semester. Wind and brass performers are added to suit the repertoire of each concert.
The Salem Chamber Orchestra is a semi-professional symphony comprised of Willamette music faculty and students, professional musicians from the region and local volunteers. The Orchestra presents four concert programs each season in addition to the annual family concert, “Mozart Lives Upstairs.”
Composed of 40 of Willamette’s top wind, brass and percussion players, the Wind Ensemble performs on campus and on tours throughout the western states.
The Jazz Ensemble is a full-sized big band, performing the finest literature from the big band tradition.
With the Wind Ensemble personnel at its core, the University Band adds all Willamette students desiring to continue their band experience at the college level.
Comprised of four of our top string performers, the Waller String Quartet performs frequently both on and off campus. Other ensembles are created each semester depending on student availability.
Performing literature drawn from the best of classical repertoire from all historical periods, the Chamber Choir performs at both local and national festivals, workshops and conventions.
The Dramatic Vocal Arts ensemble presents two productions during the school year and offers students a rich experience with opera performance and production.
Joining 12 solo voices with piano, bass and drums, Willamette Singers concentrates on vocal jazz and shares performance dates with the Jazz Ensemble for several popular annual events.
Selecting music written exclusively for treble voices, Voce Femminile performs in regular concerts throughout the year.
The Male Ensemble Willamette performs five times annually, drawing on literature from the best of barbershop, do-wop, popular and classical music.
The Willamette Master Chorus combines vocalists from the Salem community and Willamette students to form a 60-member choir. The group performs large-scale choral works with orchestra in three to four concerts annually.
