Frequently Asked Questions
How should I get started?
Explore this site, especially in the area regarding your particular teaching field of interest. There you will find WU advisors who are especially interested in (and knowledgeable about) pre-ed. Feel free to email or call them with your questions.
What types of scholarships are available for math and science teachers?
You should be on the alert for scholarships aimed at persons intending to teach math and science. For instance, for the next year there are scholarships available for such persons WHO INTEND TO TEACH IN OREGON AND WILL BE ATTENDING AN OREGON COLLEGE. These NSF funded scholarships are through the Oregon Collaborative for Excellence in the Preparation of Teachers (OCEPT). The application process is through the statewide scholarship program administered by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission. The deadline for applications is March 1. Application materials are usually available by December 15 in the Financial Aid Offices of Oregon colleges.
