Generally
speaking, the amount of coursework preparation to teach high school
science or mathematics should be approximately equivalent to that
for a college major in the subject. A careful choice of the electives
possible within a major often results in excellent preparation. This
choice also allows for pursuit of special areas of interest within
the discipline. However, breadth of content is usually more important
than depth in preparing to teach in grades K-12. |
