Pre-Med

Committee Policy

Dear Admissions Committee,

I am the pre-med adviser at Willamette University. Although I coordinate pre-med activities and do most of the student advising, I only write letters of recommendation for those students that I know through classes and laboratories. Due to the small size of the classes at Willamette, faculty get to know their individual students extremely well; we therefore deem it more appropriate for individual faculty to write for the students they have been in close contact with rather than for me to collect second-hand information and write a composite letter. For these reasons, you will not receive a letter from a pre-med adviser or pre-med committee for the applicant.
