End-of-Year Luncheon and May, 2012 AGM Meeting Minutes

Director Ken Panck welcomed Kyle House, IT support technician, as guest. He then introduced Oddny Everson and Karen Bender, Co-Directors of Social Services, who planned the banquet. He then introduced the 2011-12 Board Members and presented those members who are retiring a certificate and gift certificate that can be used at Willamette University. He then introduced Don Gallagher, who was the Chair of the Nominating Committee. Don introduced new Board nominees, Charlene Robbins (Director of Financial Services), Hardin King (Director of University Support Services) and Tom Zook (Co-Director of Curriculum Services). Peter Rasmussen wishes to change positions on the Board and becomes a nominee for the position of Co-Director of Curriculum Services with Tom Zook. Ken called for a motion to accept the Director nominees by acclamation. All new Board members were elected.

The Board for 2012-13 will therefore consist of the following: 

• Executive Director:  Ken Panck (incumbent)
• Co-Directors of Curriculum Services:  Peter Rasmussen and Tom Zook
• Co-Directors of Membership Services:  Louise Schroeder and Eunice Porter (incumbents)
• Co-Directors of Social Services:  Oddny Everson and Karen Bender (incumbents)
• Director of University Support Services:  Hardin King
• Director of Financial Services:  Charlene Robbins
• Director of Information Services:  Peter Ronai (incumbent)
• Director of Secretarial Services:  Jyl McCormick (incumbent)

The members of the Curriculum Committee who suggest programs were then asked to stand and be acknowledged. He then thanked those members, for without the general support of ICL members and these committee members, it would be difficult to promote such diverse speaker programs.

Louise Schroeder stated that over 100 members had already paid their dues for the 2012-13 year. The deadline for payment of membership dues is May 31, 2012.

Peter Ronai said the printed directory will be published in August. Please let him know changes to address, telephone or email, as soon as possible.

Karen Bender asked those at each table to pick a number between 1 and 50. She then said the winners of the table decoration would be the number closest to the table number.

Adrienne Steele proposed that ICL have a poet laureate and suggested that Wes Robinson be appointed to that position. The meeting then voted to approve this proposal.

The meeting was then adjourned.
