Rhetoric Program Description


Student Information

The Rhetoric & Media Studies department offers a wide range of courses linked by our commitment to the study of discourse in its various forms and traditions. Our courses are designed to enrich your education in practical ways by providing extensive opportunity to engage in analysis of various types of artifacts.

Central to our curriculum is the development of communication excellence, focusing on analytical writing, reading, and speaking skills.

Our Department also offers a comprehensive set of courses that students in many disciplines, including law, history, politics, psychology, anthropology, English, and the sciences find valuable to their specific course of study.

In keeping with our classical tradition, and as part of our commitment to personal and professional intellectual excellence, the department also administers comprehensive examinations to all its students during the last semester of study.
