Rachel Kinsman Steck

Rachel Kinsman Steck is pleased to be joining the theater department this year as an instructor, lighting designer, and technical director. Rachel has recently worked with Imago Maske Ensemble as their production manager/lighting director. Previously, she could be found working as a lighting designer, production manager, and electrician for Diablo Ballet, California Shakespeare Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Smuins Ballet/SF, Theater of Yugen, Lord Leebrick, the Berkeley Opera, the Greater Buffalo Opera Company, and the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.

Rachel is currently finishing her Ph.D. in Dramatic Arts at the University of Oregon where her interests lie in queer theory, history, and lighting design. She holds a MAH from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a BA from Wells College.
