President Steve Thorsett has charged a steering committee to review the position description and begin the search for an executive director of Willamette Academy as soon as possible.
Per the President’s previous message, Willamette Academy and Project Promise students will be welcomed back for the next academic year.
Committee Charge:
The efforts of the committee will set the stage to search for and recommend to the Dean of the CAS a permanent executive director and, ultimately, to create a sustainable strategy for Willamette Academy moving forward.
The committee is charged with reviewing the current position description for the Academy’s executive director with the future of the Academy in mind, finalizing the position description and leading the search process. Reviewing and vetting candidates will include input from the Willamette and greater Salem-communities.
The committee will then present a candidate to the incoming dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Ruth Feingold, for hiring consideration. It is my hope that the committee, if it deems appropriate, will serve in an advisory role for the new executive director during his or her first year at the Academy.

The application submission form for the Willamette Academy's executive director is now closed. Finalists are now under consideration.
