Mini-Grant Program

  • All Willamette University community members are eligible to apply. This includes all staff, faculty, students, and administrators in CLA, College of Law, AGSM, TIUA, and GSE.
  • Projects may be individual or collaborative.
  • At the conclusion of grant implementation, all grantees must file a report.
    • Reports are due the following school year on the date of the original grant deadline. However, grantees are encouraged to report as soon as possible after implementing the project.
    • Reports must include how the money was spent and provide evidence of achievement of project objectives. Grantees must discuss the impact they had and how they know they had that impact on the Willamette University community.

Small Project Grants

  • There are three (3) annual deadlines:
    • February 1,
    • April 4, and
    • October 21.
  • Award recipients will be announced two weeks after applications are due.
  • Grants will be up to $500.
  • A minimum of $1,000 will be available each grant cycle.

Large Project Grants

  • The annual deadline for the Large Project Grant is April 4.
  • Award recipients will be announced by the 18th of April.
  • The grant will be up to $1000.
  • A minimum of $1,000 will be available each grant cycle.

Criteria

  • The project will help the Willamette University community achieve the core values of diversity and social justice.
  • Applicant(s) will demonstrate the ability necessary to carry out and complete the project.
  • The project will be well-planned and will be completed within one semester of the grant award.
  • The project will include a detailed budget.

To Apply

There will be three funding opportunities each academic year. Please see the Small Project Grants and Large Project Grants sections above for details for each of these grant programs. Each proposal will be reviewed by the Mini-Grants Subcommittee of the CDSJ.

Evaluation and Report Form

Projects that are granted monies through the Mini-Grants must submit an Evaluation and Report Form within one month of the project’s completion. Future requests and/or distribution of funds may not be granted without the Evaluation and Report Form.
