OUTINGS

The Willamette Outdoor Program offers two annual programs and several individual outings each year. Outings are trips, generally day hikes, that explore some of Oregons best scenery. Each day trip costs $5. All registrations for outings are taken in the Outdoor Program office on the 2nd floor of the University Center. All outings are open to the Willamette University community only. Below are our annual trips. Individual outings are planned and organized by the Outdoor Program Coordinators and are designed to meet student interest, therefore, they are planned throughout the year. For more info on these outings, contact Bryan Schmidt at bschmidt@willamette.edu.

The Willamette Top 5 are a series of hikes in the fall semester designed to give students an opportunity to experience a ocean hike, waterfall hike, mountain view hike, Columbia River gorge hike, and summit hike. All of the Willamette Top 5 hikes are day hikes. A small fee is required with registrations. Participants can register for one or all of the hikes. For more information, contact Bryan Schmidt at bschmidt@willamette.edu.

Parents & Family Hike occurs during Parents and Family Weekend (in October). Parents/Families and their student(s) will have the opportunity to register for this hike through the Parent & Family registraions. The hike is a 2.3 mile loop on the Trail of Ten Falls in Silver Falls State Park (25 minutes outside of Salem). Along the hike, participants will hike behind the beautiful 177 foot South Falls. A fee is required with registrations.
