Focus your career goals, gain experience, get active
- Decide if you are interested in grad school or immediate employment
- Prepare for grad school
- Meet with admission counselors from schools you are interested in
- Take appropriate admission tests
- Research graduate programs
- Revise resume
- Take on a leadership role
- Meet with your academic advisor and the Registrar's office to make sure you are on track for graduation
- Begin networking (Alumni Career Network)
- Connect with alumni in your field of interest
- Consider practical work experience, such as an internship, instead of just trying to find a job
- If you studied abroad, learn to make the most of your international experience by meeting with one of our career counselors
- Explore fellowship and scholarship opportunities as well as summer research grants
- Attend First Avenue Career Fair
- Talk to career counselors for resource recommendations from our career resource library - check the book out!
- Contact faculty/employers for letters of recommendation
- Look into an academic or career-related internship. Consider doing a second internship!
- Look into alternative plans for after graduation, such as Peace Corps, Teach for America, the JET program, or AmeriCorps.
- Register for Compass
