Cone Chapel

On October 20, 1989, Cone Chapel was dedicated in honor of alumni Edwin and June Woldt Cone, recognizing their generous support of the University.

During the renovation of Waller Hall over the previous year, much attention was given to the renovation of the second floor chapel. As much as possible, its molding, detail and old stained glass windows were restored. New stained glass works were also commissioned -- nine new windows and pieces over the south doors.

In January, 1991, the Chapel was completed with the installation and dedication of the Bishop Family Organ, built by Bond Organ Builders, Inc. of Portland, Oregon.

Cone Chapel is open weekdays during the school year and is reserved for private prayer and meditation during the morning hours. In addition to worship services, Cone Chapel is used frequently for weddings and memorial services and for lectures and music recitals. It is the primary location for the weekly University Convocation series, which often addresses ethical, social or spiritual issues.
