Each year a classified
staff member will be named Classified Employee of the Year. Nominations
may be made by any classified staff member, faculty member, administrator,
or student. These nominations are for the current school year 2006-2007.
The winner and three runners-up will be selected by a 5 to 7 member committee
of classified staff.
Cash awards will be
given to the four finalists. The employee of the year will receive $500.00
and a free day off, and the three runners-up
will receive $100.00. The winner's picture will be displayed outside the
Human Resources Office for the following year along with his/her name
on a perpetual plaque. An article about the winners will appear in Inside
Willamette.
Award recipients will
be selected for contributions such as:
Contributions to
outstanding and sustained improvements in service to faculty, staff,
students, alumni, and other constituents.
Significantly improving
or enhancing the quality of work and/or campus life in ways that make
a substantial difference for colleagues and constituents.
Developing creative
solutions to problems that result in significantly more effective, efficient
University operations which may also result in cost savings to the University.
Facilitating the
University's changing culture in ways that promote interdepartmental
teamwork, enhance communication, and inspire commitment and productivity.
Contributing to
the betterment of the outer community.

description explaining why you feel this individual should receive the
Classified Staff Employee of the Year Award. All nominations will be confidential.
The winner will be announced at the May Classified Awards luncheon.
