| Safety Committee Janet Jobes and Ramona Murtha |

| Fringe Benefits Committee Carol Black |
The committee is discussing whether to recommend the Emeriti Program of medical benefits for retirees over 65. The program has been put in place by institutions of higher education and is funded by the Mellon Foundation. The funding of individual accounts would be by a combination of funds from the employee (pre-retirement contributions) and the university. Accounts could be used to pay insurance premiums or to cover out-of-pocket health care expenses. A sub-committee will prepare a proposal. The committee would like to do an internal benefits survey. Keith will be working on this. We will be changing life insurance carriers, but the benefits will not change, except the there will be some “buy-up” options we haven’t had in the past. The next FBC meeting is January 11. |

Campus Master
Planning Committee Holli Davenport |
Kaneko Commons: the building is a little bit behind schedule, but should be able to catch up. The dining area may not be ready by fall, but we’re pushing to have the residential space ready by then. The second commons will probably be on the east side with Montag as the core. This will mean relocating the fraternities. The Presidential Greek Strategic Planning Committee is charged with working out a new relationship between WU and the Greek system if they all move to their own free-standing housing and determining siting and fund raising/financing. The assumption is that the houses and their alumni would provide most, if not all, of the funding. Jim Bauer gave an overview of properties we have acquired or are working to acquire. Dick Breen brought some safety issues around the Law School to attention – lighting, need for more bike racks. |

| Lunch and Learn Survey Carol Black |
Carol received a good response to the survey and some good program ideas. There was a suggestion to organize a group or that meets once or twice a week to keep each other motivated to lose weight or to get out and walk. | ||||||||||||||
