Logo fundamentals
The Willamette University logos are available left justified or centered and may appear in full color, cardinal, black or reversed in white on dark backgrounds.
- Use an official university mark in a prominent position on your communications.
- Use official downloads from the university web site — don't create, recreate or alter any elements.
- Do not use logos found through internet searches.
- The proportions of logos should remain unaltered.
- The logos must be clearly legible at all times.

Minimum Size
The signature should not be used any smaller than 1" wide to ensure legibility in print. There may be other sizing limitations based on other reproduction methods. Never use the mark in a way that the type becomes illegible.

Clear Zone
Always allow a clear zone around the signature that is free of other elements. The clear zone is equal to the height of the words “Willamette University,” illustrated as X in the figure shown.

Note
Always scale the logo proportionally. Distortion in any way is unacceptable.

Backgrounds
The signature may only be used over a photograph if there is sufficient contrast between it and the image and if the color in the area of the signature is relatively continuous. It must be clear, legible and prominent in each instance.
