Welcome to Counseling Services

The staff of Counseling Services is skilled in providing short-term counseling services for students experiencing a range of concerns such as stress management, anxiety, depression, problem solving, relational concerns, personal development and adjustment, values clarification, and family conflict, among others.  There is no charge for this service.  Because the center provides short-term counseling services, other counseling options may include a referral to off-campus counseling resources as needed.

Appointments

For an appointment, visit our office or call 503-370-6471. If you need an appointment urgently, please let the front desk know you are requesting an immediate appointment.

In addition to psychological counseling services, students may access our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for an evaluation for psychiatric medication and on-going medication management services as appropriate.  If a referral is made to our PMHNP, the following fees will apply:

Initial Intake Appointment with PMHNP:      $125

Follow-up Appointment with PMHNP:            $60

No Show Fee for PMHNP Appointment:         $25

If you have Willamette University Student Insurance, the above fees will be billed directly to Aetna and paid at 100%.  If you do not have the Willamette University Student Insurance, the above fees will be billed directly to your student account.  After your appointment, you will be provided with an invoice that can be used to pursue reimbursement from your insurance provider.  You may also choose to accept a referral to another provider off campus and utilize your own insurance provider as appropriate.  

All discussion with the counselor is strictly confidential.
