Welcome to Counseling Services
The staff of Counseling Services is skilled in providing short-term counseling services for students experiencing a range of concerns such as stress management, anxiety, depression, problem solving, relational concerns, personal development and adjustment, values clarification, and family conflict, among others. Because the center provides short-term counseling services, other counseling options may include a referral to off-campus counseling resources as needed.
Appointments
For an appointment, visit our office or call 503-370-6471. If you need an appointment urgently, please let the front desk know you are requesting an immediate appointment.
Students are afforded five free 50 minute individual counseling sessions every academic year. If you wish to continue with counseling beyond the initial five free sessions, there is a $25 per session fee. Same day crisis appointments for students are not counted in these calculations. If a referral is made to our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Bishop for an evaluation for medication, the initial visit is $125 and subsequent medication management visits are $60.
These charges will be billed to the Aetna student insurance plan or to your student account if you carry alternative insurance. You will be provided with an invoice if you wish to pursue reimbursement from your insurance provider. You may also choose to accept a referral to another provider off campus and utilize your own insurance provider as appropriate.
We require 24 hour cancellation for all scheduled appointments in Counseling Services. A $25 No Show Fee will be assessed and billed to your student account for any missed appointments.
All discussion with the counselor is strictly confidential.
Statement of Non-Discrimination
The staff and providers of Counseling Services are strongly committed to affirming diversity in a broad sense, to treating all with dignity and respect, and to opposing discrimination, prejudice, and oppression.
