Recruit Volunteers

Need volunteers for a one-time service project? Looking for on-going volunteers? Hoping to connect to a service-learning course? Whatever the needs of your community organization, the Office of Community Service Learning offers a variety of resources and opportunities to easily connect you to Willamette student volunteers.

4 Easy Ways to Recruit Willamette Student Volunteers:

1. Send a brief volunteer opportunity description via email to service@willamette.edu to include in our weekly community service email and to post on our On-going Service Opportunities webpage.

2. Register for our annual September Internship and Volunteer Fair to connect with over 200 students.

3. Join the Community Partner listserv to receive quarterly e-newsletter updates from the Office of Community Service Learning. (Send an email to service@willamette.edu to sign up!)

4. Review our list of service-based clubs and service-learning courses to connect with the coordinating student leaders or faculty members.

Weekly Service Email

The Office of Community Service Learning sends out a weekly email featuring service opportunities in the community to approximately 250 Willamette students, faculty, and staff. If you have a service opportunity that you would like included in the weekly service email, please send a short paragraph including the date, time, location, activity description, and contact information of the service opportunity to service@willamette.edu.

Have an-ongoing volunteer need? Email it to service@willamette.edu and we will post it on our On-going Service Opportunities webpage!

Internship and Volunteer Fair

The Internship and Volunteer is co-sponsored by the Offices of Career Services and Community Service Learning. The fair provides an opportunity for agencies to recruit applicants for either internship or volunteer positions. This event occurs annually in September. The next Internship and Volunteer Fair will be September 13th, 2010 from 12:00 - 3:30 pm. Invitations and registration information are mailed to interested agencies in early August. Service-Based Clubs and Service-Learning Courses

Check out the student-run service-based clubs at Willamette and connect with the student leaders. Check out the service-learning courses offered at Willamette and contact service@willamette.edu to partner with the faculty member and participating students.

Student Referrals

Students often visit the Office of Community Service Learning to find service opportunities that match their individual needs and interests. By maintaining close working relationships with agencies in the community, we are better prepared to inform students of volunteer opportunities available with your organization. Please email service@willamette.edu to update the Office of Community Service Learning on your current volunteer needs or to arrange a service site visit.
