Recommendations

The fall semester begins at the end of August and ends in mid-December. The spring semester begins in mid-January and ends in mid-May. Students usually can only commit one semester at a time due to scheduling changes. Students volunteer in many capacities. They may connect with your agency as an individual, as a member of a course, or as a member of a student organization.

It is helpful to indicate how many volunteers your organization can accommodate for a given event, what type of training is needed, and to include links to your web site as well any required forms such as background checks or volunteer applications.

Students often have limited time available to volunteer. Creating short term projects will increase the likelihood of recruiting volunteers.

View our list of service based student organizations to find out if your agency might be a good match to partner with some of the groups. You can contact them directly.

Post your agency on www.givebacktoday.org. You can list on-going opportunities, specific volunteer jobs, or one-time episodic events you need help with. Opportunities will be available for students to search.

Email us with a short recruitment paragraph for your volunteer needs. We will then forward this out to a list of students who have identified an interest in service.
