Community Service Learning

Getting Started

This web site serves as a connecting point for students, staff, and the community. Each section of the website is geared toward specific needs although you are welcome to view the entire site.

The student section helps connect students to current volunteer opportunities, student-led service opportunities, service-learning courses, and social issue information.

The staff section identifies ways that staff members can play a vital role in mentoring and supporting students in civic engagement, building a service-learning course, or volunteering in the community.

The community section seeks to build mutually beneficial partnerships with agencies and schools so that we can work together to evoke change through service.

Our students are not required to do service yet it is an essential part of what the Willamette University community chooses to do on a daily basis. Willamette University students give over 65,000 hours per year in volunteer work serving over 200 agencies and schools. This is one of the ways we live our motto, "Not Unto Ourselves Alone are We Born."
