Opportunity Description: Boys and Girls club is looking to reinstate a program called ‘Fella’s Club.’ This group involves connecting with several university male student volunteers to come hang out and mentor our male youth at the Teen Center. It’s about an hour a week commitment. The idea is to hand out and start discussions, eat of course, and provide some positive role models who are close to the teens’ age. |

Agency Description: Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a character development program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through physical activity, lessons, and mentoring, Girls on the Run is designed for girls in grades 3rd – 5th while its sister program, Girls on Track (GOT), is for girls in grades 6th -8th grades. Both groups, which consist of 12 t o 15 girls will meet two times per week after school for 90 minutes and are led by coaches who have completed the GOTR coaches training. |

Opportunity Description: The HOME Youth Resource Center is in need of volunteers to assist outreach workers by hitting the streets armed with a backpack of hygiene and harm reduction supplies along with resource information. Volunteers would talk to teenagers and attempt to assist them with their basic needs along with offering them community resource referrals and connecting them with the outreach workers to be case managed. Volunteers will learn about a hidden population and will come face to face with the realities of abuse, neglect, poverty, hunger, drug and alcohol usage, and victimization along with the beauty of hope and resiliency. Agency Description: The Northwest Human Services, HOST Youth and Family Program is an emergency youth shelter for homeless and runaway youth ages 11-18. Opportunity Description: Judson Middle School is in need of volunteers to mentor and tutor their students. Their most immediate need is for math tutors Monday - Friday from 10:45 - 11:30 am for a math class. Math tutors are also needed Monday - Friday 8:10 - 2:40 pm to work with small groups and individual students. Math tutors are also needed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:40 - 4:20 pm to work with Home Work Club after school. Mentors are needed to work with male students, preferably during lunch periods one day a week. First lunch 10:42 - 11:12; Second lunch 11:35 - 11:43, and Third lunch 12:26 - 12:56. Opportunity Description: Volunteer mentors must be able to pass criminal background and have a personal vehicle, be committed for at least six months. The minimum age is 18 and training is provided. College age students can work with youth for the nine months while in school, but all other volunteers are asked to commit for one year. |
