Lilly Outreach Grant

The goal of Lilly Outreach Grants is to connect students with service opportunities and assist them in enriching the meaning of the experience through reflection.

Funding for service includes:

  • Transportation
  • Supplies (paint, trash bags, kids books)
  • Copying and publicity
  • Snacks for volunteers during service

Who can apply

  • Residence halls (up to $500 annually)
  • Sororities and fraternities (up to $500 annually)
  • Student clubs and organizations (up to $250 annually)
  • Any group of six or more students (up to $250 annually)

Lilly Outreach Grant Guidelines

  • Service must be direct service (not fundraising or donations)
  • Must be a new project (however, previously Lilly funded projects can reapply)
  • Determine volunteer site
  • Gather 6 or more people to volunteer
  • Application is due 2 weeks before service date
  • Pre and Post reflection activities required
    • Pre-service reflection should include information about site and clients and reflection activities on related social issues
    • Post-service reflection should occur immediately after service to assist participants in understanding how and why their work is significant
    • A draft of reflection activities should be submitted with the application. For help with reflection see below, link here, or email jbragg@willamette.edu for more information
  • Post-service evaluation due to Holli Davenport within one week after the event
  • Advisors, Area Coordinators, Chapter President, or Club President must sign application before submission
  • NOTE: Clubs and Greek Organizations may not submit applications for projects that advocate for their organizations, its mission, or to solicit members
  • Lilly Outreach Grants may not be used for any illegal activity and the use of drugs or alcohol during a LOG event is strictly prohibited. All University Policies apply

How do I apply?

Fill out the Lilly Outreach Grant Application and turn it in to Holly Davenport (UC2) at least two weeks before the service project.
