Community-Based Work Study Opportunities

Community-based work study provides eligible students with the opportunity to earn their financial aid awards (federal work-study allotments) through employment at off-campus community agencies such as local non-profit organizations and community schools. Common community-based work study opportunities include tutoring literacy and math to young students.

Through community-based work study, college students:

  • learn about existing needs in the community,
  • address those needs through service,
  • gain valuable work experience, and
  • develop meaningful relationships with their community.

To view current community-based work study opportunities:

Please visit the Office of Career Service's Job Cat and click on "JobCat Jobs" under the "Jobs" tab. You can then indicate your search preference for "Federal Work-Study" positions in the "Position type" drop-down.
