Volunteer as an Advisor
As an advisor your primary role is to mentor student leaders, participate in service, and contribute to meaningful discussion about relevant issues. If you are interested in advising a Take a Break service trip, please read the Advisor Position Description (DOC) for information. Applicants with experience participating in a service immersion trips are given priority. View the trip sites, which represent partnerships with communities we return to annually as well as new projects proposed by students.
To apply, please submit a one page letter of interest which includes why you are interested in TaB, which focus areas interest you, and your availability to commit to the following:
- Weekly trip meetings or community hours (spring semester)
- Pre-trip service opportunities (MLK Into the Streets)
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Two advisor info sessions
- Monthly advising meetings with your student Trip Facilitators and co-advisor
- TaB Spring Break Trip
Submit a completed Alternative Break Supervisory Approval form via campus mail to Take a Break, University Center.
