Participants plunged right into the center of urban life, and all of the issues that come with it focusing on the issues of homelessness, poverty, drugs, and AIDs. The members learned what it truly feels like to come face to face with an overwhelming and seemingly hopeless number of problems. The group served and learned about the community through serving meals in the streets, packaging condoms and AIDs awareness kits, staffing an AIDs benefit and awareness concert, picking up trash and gardening in a park, and organizing and packing food at a local food bank.
