As a participant in TaB you become a member of two communities. Each trip is composed of 14 people, and as a member of this community you are expected to attend all meetings and activities before, during, and after the trip. Typically trip communities meet weekly leading up to the trip to plan trip logistics, bond as a group, and to serve with Salem agencies. During the week of TaB you will become a member of the community you are serving in. Your group will serve in a variety of settings, working long days and participating in reflection activities in the evening to process what you are learning. We live simply, bringing our own sleeping bags to use while living in donated space that is usually a local church or community building. As student led trips that are only as impactful as you make them by taking initiative and showing up with an open mind and a flexible approach.
TaB is completely funded by donations. If accepted to TaB you will pay a deposit and then have a fundraising goal. If you reach your fundraising goal you can then begin to earn back your deposit.
We accept participants based solely on what is contained in your application. Take time with your application and read our helpful tips. Applications for participants will be available in September of 2009.
