Federal Health Care Reform Requires Increased Coverage for Willamette Students

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was passed on March 23, 2010.  On March 16, 2012 Health and Human Services ruled that insurance provided by a university for students must follow the PPACA guidelines. As a result of this ruling, the 2012-13 Willamette Student Health Insurance plan offers comprehensive coverage that meets the requirements of the PPACA and the US Dept. of Health & Human Services.

For further information see Frequently Asked Questions regarding selection of coverage and the waiver process for those with existing coverage.
