Health Services

Services

Students see our medical staff for the same range of illnesses and injuries they would see their home community provider for. In Oregon, our staff nurse practitioners are licensed to diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses. They treat injuries, prescribe medication, and order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.

The following services are provided at the Student Health Center:

  • Health maintenance
  • Annual exams for women
  • Emergency Contraception
  • STD and HIV screening
  • Physicals for study abroad
  • Nutrition/fitness education
  • Health education
  • Resource materials for personal or program needs
  • Immunizations
  • Evaluation and treatment of illness/injury
  • Coordination/management of chronic health conditions
  • Referrals to specialists in the community
Bishop Wellness Center will provide Documentation of Illness to students whose illness poses a risk to the Willamette community, such as an influenza outbreak or a chicken pox diagnosis. This form acts as supplemental information for faculty, coaches and others when a student misses classes or activities because of this illness. Disability Services communicates with faculty, coaches and others about absences that result from ADA covered temporary medical conditions, such as being admitted to the hospital.
