Director of Executive Development Center - Atkinson Graduate School of Management

The Atkinson Graduate School of Management, Willamette University seeks an experienced and innovative Director for its Executive Development Center (EDC). The Director will report directly to, and work closely with, the Dean and have full P&L responsibility for the EDC. The School, which is AACSB and NASPAA accredited, offers an Early Career MBA in Salem, OR, an MBA for Professionals in both Salem and Portland, OR, and has been offering executive education courses for about 10 years. The Director will develop and execute a strategic plan for the EDC that results in steady and profitable growth. The Director will work closely with the faculty and program managers to further strengthen our executive education programs, improve their impact, and achieve high visibility in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors in the Northwest. He/she will be responsible for developing and managing key EDC contacts and will represent the School at events and meetings as needed to promote the visibility of the EDC. The Director will oversee the budget and operations of the center.

The position is a 12-month administrative appointment with a beginning date of June 1, 2008 (or earlier by mutual agreement). Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualifications:

Desired qualifications include an MBA from an AACSB accredited program or an MPA from a NASPAA accredited program; a proven record of marketing/selling executive education programs or equivalent; and effective management or consulting experience in university or corporate settings. Candidates with a bachelor's degree with work experience equivalent to an advanced degree will be considered. Considerable experience in university and/or corporate executive development and training (including market demand assessment, client problem assessment, program and proposal development, faculty selection, program monitoring and evaluation), and considerable supervisory experience in university or corporate environments are required. Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Familiarity with relationship management platforms and satisfaction assessment protocols desired.
