The Office of International Education (OIE) provides information to Willamette students about opportunities to engage in foreign studies for a semester or academic year. The OIE also provides advising, programming, advocacy and other services to all international students, visiting professors, language assistants, and faculty.
Study abroad services provided for students include:
- Semester or academic year programs located in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, The Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Wales.
- Short-term programs (post-sessions and summer sessions) available in South Africa, Ecuador, Italy, Puerto Rico, and Greece.
- Domestic semester programs in Chicago and Washington, DC.
International student and scholar services include:
- Advising related to cultural, personal, academic and social adjustment, finances, health, etc.
- Advising and assistance with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), Department of State (DOS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Social Security Administration (SSA) regulations and procedures.
- Campus cultural, educational and recreational programming throughout the year.
- Administration of WU insurance plan for international students and their dependents.
