I love spending time with the people I love. I spend a lot of time reflecting that takes form in writing and painting. I love when I can see things with a different perspective. I love sound: Music, Laughter, Voice.

Favorite Class at WU

I would say Urban Sociology. It was a way to experience the city and everything around it in a way I had never learned to do so. Also, Intro to American Ethnic Studies helped see and understand my experiences as a Woman of Color in a new light.

Last spring, we had a spoken word night at the Bistro where people were able to voice their truths. It was beautiful!

Wulapalooza because the music is amazing and there are a lot of neat booths. Music and food bring in people and are a way to bond, create memories, and have fun.

Favorite Restaurant in Salem

Toss up between Fuji Rice Time and La Perla. Rice Time has really delicious yakisoba and is a nice place to go. The people are friendly. La Perla has pretty good tacos for 99 cents and helps quench the hunger.

Dissent in American Politics with Professor Gutterman. This class pushed boundaries and challenged us all to really think about the operations of social movements.

Favorite Event at WU

I'm going to have to say Lu'au. It is an experience that I am fortunate to have been a part of with so many wonderful people you get to know and love. We have a large and diverse group of people working to put on this celebration and we have the opportunity to share a little bit of home and our way of life with Willamette.

Quote or Words O' Wisdom

"But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begins." --Mitch Albom

The restaurant on Hill Street next to a karate studio. I can never remember what it's called but it is really good because they make you aguas frescas at a great price and it's within walking distance.
