Interests and Hobbies

Watching movies, singing, reading novels, drawing horses and people, going to dances, helping the community in general and working with small children, playing with all of my siblings, playing Wii and Super Nintendo, and I most certainly enjoy entertaining different types of audiences.

Favorite Class at WU

I've had many classes that I've enjoyed, but if I had to choose only one, I think I would pick my current course in Principles of Behavior Analysis because although it is incredibly philosophical at times, it challenges me and my classmates to think critically about how behavior is commonly described and how it can be conflictual. Overall, the goal of the course is to present us with different behavioral views and use the one that we believe is the most practical in solving behavioral and social issues at large.

Favorite Event at WU

Again, there are many events that I enjoy, but in choosing one, I would nominate the Lu'au simply because it is the only event that I have attended since Opening Days that does an amazing job of bringing the whole school collectively together.

Favorite Restaurant in Salem

The vegetable samosa appetizer at the Gulab Jaman and dessert at the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant are simply delicious!

Fun Facts

I love the smell of horses, I am the eldest of 5 children, in reality I have never actually grown up, I've had braces for about a year and therefore must say no when someone offers me chewing gum, I don't like being alone at home and if I am I turn up the music, I secretly perfect my chipmunk voice to the end of Michael Jackson's P.Y.T., and I have a great interest in learning about other cultures and listening to their music.

Interests and Hobbies

I enjoy dancing to many types of music but I am very passionate about dancing Cumbia. It is absolutely my favorite genre to dance! I love to run, listen to music and see new places, as well as becoming more involved with my community to learn about new issues and ideas. I love my family and like to work alongside my dad when we are out picking cherries or pears together. We are a great team.

Favorite Class at WU

I am currently taking Environmental Justice and Biology 125. Biology has been very challenging for me and motivates me to keep expanding my potential. Environmental Justice has taught me so much about social and environmental justice and given me the opportunity to work with a non-profit organization as part of the class.

Favorite Event at WU

Willamette Dance Academy Show, Black Tie, Dolores Huerta coming speak at the MLK Celebration!

Favorite Restaurant in Salem

Denny's!

Fun Facts

For my last home Cross Country meet of my senior year in High School, I was about 200 meters behind a girl whom I wanted to reach. The finish line was very close when I decided to take the decision of ignoring the burning sensation in my legs and increase my speed in order to reach that girl. It almost seemed impossible because of the distance I had to cover in such a little amount of time but as I began speeding up I became confused. I was getting closer to her! About 10 inches behind the finish line, I passed her and ran across the finish line. I was very proud of myself and joyful that my parents were on the bleachers supporting me.
