| 7:30 p.m. | Theatre Production: Sophocles' Antigone Preview OUTDOOR locataion: 14th Street and Oak Street at the University Transfer Station Antigone’s uncle, the king of Thebes, has left Antigone’s dead brother as food for carrion, unburied outside the city walls. When Antigone breaks the law to perform funeral rites for her brother, the very kingdom starts to come apart at the seams. This gripping classic tragedy is incredibly powerful and pits brother against brother, husband against wife, and a ruler against his people. This heavily movement-based production will explore the ritual beginnings of the theatre as well as the depths of human emotion. |
